ActivAcre is a collaborative opportunity for landowners with the backing of a robust, real asset investment company. Not only is leasing under-utilised land an opportunity for additional revenue but it provides greater benefit to the soil and livestock.
For ActivAcre Manager Jason Bolch it's meeting the people behind the trees that he loves most.
He's worked in Tasmania's forestry industry for more than two decades and describes himself as a "feet on the ground type of operator".
"The people that I meet in this industry generally are honest, reliable and hardworking."
"Whether you're dealing with foresters, contractors or landowners, they're all in the same boat, they want the best from their land, livestock and environment."
Jason is an expert when it comes to getting trees in the ground. He describes the ActivAcre program as "a collaborative opportunity for landowners with the backing of a robust, real asset investment company".
He knows that not only is leasing under-utilised land an opportunity for additional revenue but it provides greater benefit to the soil and livestock.
Born on the North-West Coast of Tasmania, Jason completed an electrical apprenticeship before undertaking his technical forestry traineeship with the Forestry Commission. He then moved to North Forest Products and eventually Gunns. Jason's strengths lie in land acquisition and project management.
The father of one and fishing enthusiast has been working in the SFM team for more than a decade. He says it's advantageous to work for a medium-size business where the directors have passion and connection to every project and team member.
